Visiting LEVITATED MASS at LACMA
There’s something about the installation, LEVITATED MASS, at LACMA that reminds me of something from The Dark Knight movies. It’s epic and gritty and looks like a piece of stone taken directly from Bruce Wayne’s bat cave. Even the bunker it’s situated upon looks like a ramp he’d drive up in the Tumbler on his path to stop a villain. I don’t know if the artist would necessarily like that connection, but it’s Los Angeles and the Bronson Caves where they shot a ton of episodes of the original Batman TV series in the 1960s are only a short drive away, so there’s a bit of resonance.
