An Art Event To Benefit SHARKS!!!
Sharks are in need of our help and the organization Pangea Seed has found a creative way to raise the funds necessary to make sure they don’t go extinct! When I met the crew who organized the round-the-world travelling art exhibit of which the proceeds go to the foundation, they were on their way to Jim Phillips’ studio in Santa Cruz to pick up an original piece for the show. They’re a nice bunch who spend most of the year in Japan, but beyond their awesome demeanors they’re still definitely hardcore and at least one of them was a member of the Sea Shepherd crew — the die hard outfit that goes after whale hunters with rumbling force. I know most of us are afraid of sharks, but the truth is without them the ecosystem of the ocean is at risk. However, although they may be frightening to see in the water whilst splashing about, they make for excellant pieces of art like the Ultimate Warrior // Great White Shark mashup by Rhys Cooper.
