It’s so important to keep an eye out for the photographic superstars of the future, so Photo LA put on a competition called Emerging Focus to seek them out. Photographers young and old submitted their images, which were then curated by a select group of educators and artists like Mark Hanauer, Allan Sekula, Dennis Keeley, and Issa Sharp. The photos the judges chose to make it through the competition are currently on display in the front lobby area of Photo LA and prizes were awarded on preview night to the top three favorites. Don’t fret too much if you’re really busy this weekend and don’t get a chance to make it to the fair, since the winners of competition will be on display at Icon Projects Gallery in Los Angeles sometime this year.
