Isabelle Alford-Lago recently had a private reception in Venice Beach where she showcased her latest series of gorilla paintings. It was great to be included amongst wonderful collectors and friends in a environment where we were all able to actually focus on each piece while eating delicious fresh eats! And since we weren’t all crowded together, we had room to discover a vocabulary in the work – like when one guest started staring at the eyes of each gorilla to determine whether they were male or female based on the length of their eyelashes. I really can’t wait until all of you can see the pieces in this show.
