PULSE Art Fair Los Angeles – RECAP

The Pulse Art Fair in Los Angeles was a spectacular showcase of contemporary art from all over the world. It was a lot more manageable than Art Platform (another art fair that was going on at the same time) since the booths were positioned evenly and featured more solo shows instead of huge group exhibits. One of my favorite moments occurred just as I was leaving the grounds on Saturday, when a woman randomly set up a chair in the lounge area and begun to play her violin. I couldn’t help but giggle when I looked at the page she was reading from, since there wasn’t a single bit of musical notation on it. Instead of clefs and triplets there was a poem was written in C Major on the page that read “d.e.a.d. f.e.e.d. // e.b.b. // f.e.e.d f.a.c.e // d.e.a.f. d.e.c.a.f. // a.d. // f.a.d.e. // c.a.d. // c.a.g.e.d. a.c.e. // b.e.g. // e.c.g. // f.d.a. // c.e.d.e.d // e.d.g.e.d //d.e.a. //e.b.b.e.d. // c.d.c. // d.e.f.a.c.e. b.a.g.g.a.g.e // a.d.d. // e.f.f.a.c.e. c.a.b.b.a.g.e. // f.a.d. // c.e.d.e.” I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for Pulse to come back to Los Angeles!
