ART PLATFORM Los Angeles – Tami Demaree
Tami Demaree has a bunch of wooden sculptures on display at Las Ciengas Project’s booth in the Co/Lab section of Art Platform. Her work is made out of found pieces of driftwood and sea shells and definitely reminds me of art by native pacific islanders – which is interesting because I was told that Tami’s family is from Hawaii. There was something about Tami’s work that made me feel really happy and creeped out at the same time, which I liked, and it was definitely a welcome refresher from all the two dimensional works on display at the event.
