M+B had a selection of works from Andrew Bush’s series of envelope photographs in their booth at Art Platform Los Angeles. And the one that stuck out most to me wasn’t the largest, or the most colorful, but rather a Netflix sleeve for the Charlton Heston film The Omega Man. I ran over to the desk feeling inspired and immediately asked if the artist would consider doing commissions, since I can think of at least 500 movies I’d like pictures of. We then broke out into a mild debate about whether it was funnier to own a photo of an obscure film like Sweet Movie or something normal like Big Mamma’s House. Argument aside, I have a lot respect for the curator of the display, considering they had to select just 13 out of over 210 different images from that particular body of work.
