The David Klein Gallery had many artists on display at its exhibit, but Kim McCarty’s large watercolor portraits of people really won me over. I gravitated to the work once I saw her paintings of a boy and girl facing each other, which is funny considering the artist never intended the works to go together. Once I found this out, it became evident that it was one of the best examples at Art Platform of a curator eliciting emotional responses from the viewer by placing an artist’s work in an unintentional way. The David Klein Gallery is based out of Michigan and represents about 84 different artists, wowzers!
